Capt Tony’s Rum Cake

RUM CAKE – Yellow or Chocolate

1 Box Classic Yellow Cake Mix or Chocolate Cake Mix

1 Box Vanilla or Chocolate Instant Pudding

½ Cup Canola Oil

4 Eggs

½ Cup Cold Water

¾ Cup Rum – I have used Captain Morgan Private Stock or Kraken


1.5 Sticks of Real Butter (¾ cup)

1 ¾ cup Sugar

¼ Cup Water

1/2 to ¾ Cup Rum based on your preference…


Set oven to 325


Mix DRY ingredients

Mix WET ingredients

Add Wet to Dry ingredients

Mix well

Grease the baking pan with butter

Pour the mix into the baking pan

Bake 45 minutes to 1 hour depending on oven


Mix ingredients together

Bring to a boil over MEDIUM heat

Turn it OFF

Add ¾ cup of Rum

Stir for 1 minute

Pour ⅓ of glaze over the bottom of the cake

Pour ⅔ of glaze over the TOP of the cake

Enjoy by itself or with good quality ice cream of your choice!
